Overview

The IT Security Service Manager is responsible for managing and delivering security services across IT projects and live environments. The role focuses on protecting systems, data, and services while ensuring security is embedded into project delivery-not bolted on at the end.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage security services across IT projects, platforms, and operational environments

• Act as the security lead for assigned IT projects, ensuring alignment with security policies and standards

• Oversee incident response, investigations, and post-incident reviews for IT security events

• Ensure compliance with information security frameworks, regulatory requirements, and internal controls

• Work closely with IT, engineering, and project teams to identify and mitigate risks

• Maintain clear reporting on risks, incidents, KPIs, and service performance

• Support audits, assurance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Experience in an IT security, information security, or security service management role

• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, cloud, and data security

• Experience managing security within project and change environments

• Ability to translate security risks into clear, business-focused language

• Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills

Desirable

• Experience with ISO 27001, NIST, or similar frameworks

• Knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

• Relevant certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer)
