Are you an experienced Manual Tester looking to work on a large-scale public sector digital transformation programme?
We're looking for a skilled Manual Tester to join a collaborative Agile engineering team, helping to deliver and maintain critical applications that support millions of users across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to work on meaningful projects where quality, reliability and continuous improvement are at the heart of delivery.
The Role
As a Manual Tester, you'll be responsible for designing, preparing and executing comprehensive testing activities across the software development lifecycle. You'll work closely with developers, engineers and delivery teams to ensure applications meet the highest quality standards before release.
This role offers the chance to influence testing strategy, improve quality processes and contribute to the successful delivery of complex software solutions.
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing and implementing manual test solutions using industry best practices.
- Performing test analysis, test design, preparation and execution.
- Applying structured and risk-based testing methodologies.
- Creating and managing high-quality test data.
- Executing functional, system, integration and non-functional testing.
- Logging, tracking and managing defects through to resolution.
- Producing test progress reports and providing estimates for testing activities.
- Working closely with developers and engineers to support software delivery and continuous improvement.
- Challenging solutions where appropriate to improve quality and reduce delivery risk.
What We're Looking For
- Proven commercial experience in Manual Software Testing.
- Strong test analysis and test design skills.
- Experience creating and managing test data.
- Good understanding of structured and risk-based testing methodologies.
- Experience executing testing across multiple test levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
Desirable Experience
- Active SC Clearance (or previously held SC Clearance).
- Experience working within UK Government or highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of tax or financial systems would be advantageous.
