The opportunity

Enterprise Infrastructure plays a critical role in operating, maintaining and transforming the on-premise technology that underpins essential applications and services.

As Strategy Lead, you'll work closely with senior technology leaders and stakeholders across the business to set strategic direction, shape transformation priorities and ensure the right initiatives receive the focus and investment they need.

This is a high-impact role for someone who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, bringing clarity to complex challenges, influencing senior decision-making and translating ambitious objectives into measurable outcomes.

What you'll be doing

  • Shape the strategy: Lead the development of annual and multi-year technology infrastructure strategies, defining the vision, priorities and transformation roadmaps.

  • Drive transformation: Translate wider business and technology objectives into practical initiatives that deliver measurable improvements.

  • Influence senior decisions: Develop compelling executive presentations, strategy packs and decision papers to support leadership discussions and investment decisions.

  • Strengthen governance: Lead the leadership team's operating rhythm, including performance reviews, strategic deep-dives and governance forums.

  • Maintain delivery momentum: Monitor portfolio progress, manage dependencies and risks, and resolve bottlenecks to keep priorities on track.

  • Support financial planning: Partner with Transformation & Change and the Chief Operating Office on investment planning, budget management and spend transparency.

  • Plan for future capability: Assess capacity and capability requirements to inform workforce planning and resourcing decisions.

  • Improve performance: Drive productivity, simplification and continuous improvement across processes, tools and organisational design.

  • Build strong partnerships: Establish trusted relationships across technology, operations, procurement and business CIO teams to ensure alignment and collaboration.

What you'll bring

  • Proven experience in strategy, transformation, portfolio delivery or business management, ideally within technology infrastructure or a related technology function.

  • Experience working in financial services or another highly regulated environment.

  • A solid understanding of infrastructure technologies and operating models, including compute, storage, cloud and hybrid environments.

  • The ability to influence senior stakeholders and deliver outcomes within complex, matrixed organisations.

  • Excellent communication skills, with experience producing clear, concise executive-level narratives and recommendations.

  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen, including data-led prioritisation, benefits tracking, financial oversight and risk management.

  • The ability to connect strategic objectives with practical delivery, maintaining focus on outcomes, accountability and continuous improvement.

The person we're looking for

You're a strategic thinker who is equally comfortable shaping the bigger picture and driving the detail needed to make things happen. You build relationships easily, challenge constructively and bring people together around shared priorities.

Commercially minded, curious about technology and focused on results, you thrive in complex environments where clear thinking, sound judgement and strong stakeholder engagement make a real difference.
