We are seeking an experienced VMware Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the implementation and delivery of cloud and virtualisation solutions for a customer. This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong VMware, infrastructure engineering, system administration and automation experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building and configuring infrastructure, developing automated deployment solutions and supporting the integration of cloud services into established customer environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and implement cloud and virtualised infrastructure solutions.

• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates to automate infrastructure deployment.

• Create and configure cloud landing zones and base infrastructure.

• Onboard customer accounts into ServiceNow (SNOW) and Cloud Checker.

• Enable Gold Services and publish standard and custom templates into the ServiceNow catalogue.

• Configure and manage infrastructure security, access controls, networking and system administration.

• Support infrastructure monitoring, patch management, high availability and performance optimisation.

• Assist with the deployment, configuration and ongoing support of VMware and cloud technologies.

• Ensure solutions meet customer requirements, architectural standards and security best practice.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Strong experience as a VMware SME, VMware Engineer or Infrastructure Build Engineer.

• Excellent knowledge of VMware virtualisation technologies and infrastructure architecture.

• Experience building, configuring and supporting virtualised environments.

• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, administration and infrastructure implementation.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automated deployment.

• Scripting experience using Python, PowerShell, Bash, JavaScript or similar languages.

• Knowledge of infrastructure security, including IAM, roles, policies and access controls.

• Strong understanding of networking, including VPCs, subnets, routing, firewalls, DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP.

• Experience with Windows Server and Linux administration.

• Knowledge of monitoring, patch management, high availability and infrastructure performance.

Desirable Experience

• Experience with AWS cloud services, CloudFormation and Systems Manager.

• Knowledge of ServiceNow service catalogues and cloud onboarding processes.

• Experience with cloud security, governance and cost optimisation.

• Experience supporting enterprise-scale infrastructure environments.
