Rate: £625 a day (Inside IR35) Location: Corsham (5 days a week onsite) Duration: Initially 6 months Clearance: UKSV DV Clearance required A global IT consultancy are looking for an IT Capacity Manager to join their team as they bring digital transformation to the MoD. You will be responsible for ensuring that VMware-based infrastructure capacity meets current and future business needs in a cost-effective, reliable, and scalable manner. The role applies ITIL capacity management practices to proactively plan, monitor, analyse, and optimise compute, storage, and network resources across on premise and hybrid VMware environments. Key Duties: Own and execute the ITIL Capacity Management process, including Business, Service, and Component Capacity Management.
Develop and maintain capacity plans, forecasts, and models for VMware environments.
Ensure infrastructure capacity supports agreed SLAs
Identify capacity risks, constraints, and performance bottlenecks before they impact services.
Produce regular capacity and utilization reports, dashboards, and trend analyses. xkybehq
Support hardware refresh, expansion, and decommissioning decisions. Your skills and experience: Experience of working in Defence
Strong experience managing capacity
Experience with capacity and monitoring tools (e.g., vRealize Operations or similar
Strong understanding of ITIL 4 practices and service lifecycle concepts
Experience working with Change, Incident, Problem, and Service Design processes
