CGI's Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit, focuses primarily on the delivery of contemporary and innovative technical solutions for the government agencies most challenging problems. We are currently looking for an experienced sire reliability engineers to join our cross-functional team who, in partnership with our clients, will help define, guide and assure the delivery of integrated solutions.

The position is suitable for some office or home-based work but due to the secure access of systems, this position will require onsite attendance in Gloucester.
Your future duties and responsibilities
We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our team for a cloud based big data project. This role will focus on the support and delivery of a software implementation, configuration of software improvements, maintaining deployment environments, automating manual processes, supporting changes to live systems when needed. We are looking for candidates with a positive problem solving attitude who can adapt to client problems as required.
The Tech Stack used is:
Java, Python, Javascript (Typescript), Vue, Bash, Jenkins, Ansible ,Cucumber, NiFi, Go, AWS, Gitlab, ELK stack, Terraform, Grafana, Sonarqube, Openshift, Linux
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Proven experience in Site Reliability Engineering or a similar DevOps/ SRE role supporting cloud-based applications.
Strong scripting and automation skills using Bash, Python, or Go.
Experience with CI/ CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, and Ansible.
Proficiency in managing infrastructure-as-code with tools like Terraform.
Solid understanding of AWS services and cloud-native architecture.
Strong troubleshooting skills with experience in Linux-based environments.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Grafana, ELK Stack, and SonarQube.
Familiarity with container orchestration using OpenShift (or Kubernetes equivalent).
Ability to support, maintain, and improve deployment environments, ensuring reliability and scalability.
Comfortable with live service support and change management in production environments.
Strong communication skills and a positive, solution-focused mindset, with the ability to adapt to changing client needs.
Desirable Skills:
Hands-on experience with Apache NiFi for data flow management.
Exposure to Java, JavaScript/ TypeScript, and Vue for full-stack understanding.
Experience with BDD frameworks like Cucumber.
Background in supporting or working on big data projects is highly advantageous.
Qualifications:
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
Relevant certifications in AWS, DevOps, or SRE practices are a plus.
