Salary: £35,000 base salary + commission (OTE up to £50,000 per year)

Location: Remote and Client Site Visits

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm

Overview We are looking for a proactive, commercially minded, and customer-focused Accounting Software Account Manager to manage and grow our existing client base while supporting new business development.
This hybrid role combines account management, customer success, and sales responsibilities , making it ideal for someone who enjoys building long-term client relationships, helping businesses maximise the value of accounting technology, and contributing directly to revenue growth.
You will act as a trusted advisor to clients - ensuring strong adoption, satisfaction, and retention, while identifying opportunities to expand accounts and win new business.
Key Responsibilities Client Account Management & Customer Success
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of existing clients
  • Onboard new clients and support successful implementation of accounting software
  • Deliver client training on system functionality, best practices, and new features
  • Identify client needs, usage gaps, and opportunities to improve value
  • Manage renewals, upselling, and cross-selling activities
  • Work closely with support and implementation teams to resolve client issues efficiently
Sales & Business Development
  • Support the full sales cycle, including lead qualification, product demonstrations, proposals, negotiation, and closing
  • Identify opportunities for account expansion and new business growth
  • Deliver tailored product demonstrations to clients and prospects
  • Prepare quotations, proposals, and contracts
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and activity records within the CRM system
Product & Market Knowledge
  • Develop strong knowledge of accounting software, integrations, and use cases
  • Stay up to date with developments in accounting, finance, and technology
  • Provide client feedback to internal teams to support product improvements
Background & Qualifications
  • Degree educated or equivalent experience (Accounting or Finance desirable but not essential)
  • Part-qualified or fully qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent) desirable
  • Good understanding of core accounting principles, including:
    • Bookkeeping
    • Management accounts
    • Financial reporting
Technical & Systems Skills
  • Experience using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage , or similar platforms
  • Strong general IT skills and ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Comfortable working with cloud-based platforms and digital workflows
  • Understanding of how technology improves efficiency and reporting in accounting processes
