CAD Apprentice
Role
Whilst completing a level 3 apprenticeship in engineering design over the next 36 months, you will be required to do the following:
- Provide technical support to project managers and other CAD (Computer Aided Desgin) team members for all aspects of design and CAD works
- Gather information, studies, vendor data, perform assessments, etc. and produce layouts and/or sketches to represent design proposals
- Liaise with clients, project managers and other design team members as required
- Maintain technical quality with the ability to deliver on time and within budget
- Develop and maintain excellent client relationships
- Support business development initiatives as required
- Ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with best practice and in line with the Company’s Quality and Environmental Management System
- Ensure health and safety risks in design are identified and managed and the project is executed in accordance with the Company’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
- Learn the standards and procedures for the CAD team as required
Development:
The CAD Apprentice will support all aspects of the business services and will be expected to attend site meetings, client meetings and support site surveys as required.
The role will include an agreed training and development path to include attendance on courses to develop knowledge and experience.
The CAD apprentice will benefit from support and advice from the CNG services team in all aspects of the services we offer, and we be regularly monitored and supported by the Senior CAD operator and engineers as directed.
Training
- Level 3 engineering design and draughtsperson apprenticeship standard
- Level 2 functional skills in English and maths if required
- End point assessment
This 42-month program supports your development at work with skills and development days (weekly) delivered during term time at our Woodlands Campus in north Solihull.
A permanent role within CNG Services. The candidate can also expect to take full responsibility for designing entire projects from start to finish, along with site visits using our GPS surveying equipment and drone. The candidate will also be allowed to explore future career development through a degree and joining IGEM that will benefit them and the company.
