Construction Business Development Manager

This is a pivotal role for a commercially driven individual who thrives on growth, relationship-building, and delivering results across both public and private sector markets.

The Role

As Business Development Manager, you will play a central role in driving the Group s growth strategy. This is a hybrid hunter/farmer position, combining new business generation with the development of existing partnerships.

You will operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, acting as a key link between external clients and internal operational, finance, and marketing teams to convert opportunities into long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Growth: Identify and develop new markets, customer segments, and revenue opportunities within construction, landscaping, and restoration.

  • Lead Generation: Proactively generate leads through outbound activity, networking, industry events, and strategic partnerships.

  • Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with procurement contacts, stakeholders, and partners.

  • Pipeline Management: Coordinate information flow between clients and internal teams to support compelling proposals and presentations.

  • Market Intelligence: Conduct research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive advantages.

  • Reporting: Deliver accurate performance reporting and revenue forecasts to senior leadership.

About You

We are seeking a candidate who understands the construction sector and has the credibility and network to make an immediate impact.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 3 5 years experience in Business Development or Sales within the construction industry (public and private sectors).

  • An established industry network (highly desirable).

  • Strong commercial acumen, including proposal preparation and contract negotiation.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline (preferred).
