Apprentice Product Design Engineer Mechatronics - Level 3
Role
We are offering a Level 3 advanced apprenticeship for a Mechatronics Maintenance Technician Level 3 with a keen focus on electrical and PLC systems. You will spend time on site with the maintenance team, and you will also spend time at college, where you can meet other apprentices and learn more about the technical aspects of engineering. You will learn how to:
- Provide technical support and expertise within the UTC maintenance.
- understand mechanical, electrical, electronic, fluid power and process control principles in a mechatronics maintenance environment.
- understand how equipment being maintained functions and operating parameters in individual components and how they interact.
- understand fault diagnostic methods, techniques and equipment used when maintaining equipment and systems.
- understand condition monitoring methods and equipment used and understand how the information gained supports the planning of maintenance activities.
- Carrying out complex fault diagnosis and repair activities on high technology engineered systems such as:
- Maintaining mechanical equipment.
- Maintaining fluid & pneumatic power equipment.
- Maintaining electrical & electronic equipment.
- Maintaining process control equipment.
Training
Engineering technician level 3
Apprentices will be required to attend college at least x1 day per week either at Uxbridge, Harrow or Hayes Campus completing necessary mandatory training and units associated with the apprenticeship.
The apprentice will be required to complete:
• Work towards gaining a full Qualification.
• Employment Rights and Responsibilities.
• Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours.
• Standard and End Point Assessment.
• Functional Skills in English, maths, and ICT (if required).
Other training will be provided by the employer as required to enable the fulfilment of the job role.
Can lead to a position as an Electrical/PLC technician, team leader, manager.
