Up to £80,000 per annum

CPS Group are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join a high-performing digital transformation environment delivering impactful change across large-scale public sector and technology programmes.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background who thrives in collaborative, fast-paced delivery environments and enjoys shaping digital solutions that improve services, processes, and user experiences.

Working within multidisciplinary delivery teams, you will play a key role in understanding business needs, defining requirements, and supporting the successful delivery of user-centred digital and technology solutions.

You will collaborate closely with stakeholders, technical teams, product leads, designers, and delivery teams to translate complex business challenges into clear, actionable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Work closely with senior stakeholders and business users to gather, analyse, and document business requirements
Translate business needs into clear functional and technical specifications
Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and discovery sessions to identify priorities and opportunities
Collaborate with developers, architects, designers, and testers to shape solution design and delivery approaches
Support digital transformation and business change initiatives across complex programmes
Create and maintain high-quality artefacts including user stories, process maps, business cases, workflows, and acceptance criteria
Ensure requirements traceability and alignment with organisational objectives
Support testing activities including UAT coordination, validation, and defect resolution
Analyse systems, processes, and data flows to identify improvements and optimisation opportunities
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and share best practice across the wider business analysis community
Mentor and support junior Business Analysts where appropriate

Skills & Experience

Proven experience as a Business Analyst or Senior Business Analyst, ideally within public sector or large enterprise environments
Strong technical understanding, including experience working alongside development and architecture teams
Experience delivering digital and IT solutions across varied technologies and platforms
Strong knowledge of Agile, iterative, and/or Waterfall delivery methodologies
Experience creating backlogs, user stories, customer journeys, and acceptance criteria
Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement capabilities
Experience working within multidisciplinary delivery teams

Desirable Experience

Experience supporting digital transformation or large-scale IT change programmes
Knowledge of systems integration, APIs, data analysis, or data modelling
Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar collaboration platforms
Understanding of government or public sector frameworks and standards
Experience mentoring junior team members or contributing to BA best practice communities
