My client is a profitable fintech business founded in the UK & now operating globally. After 8yrs of trading behind them & hitting profitability a few years back – Its an exciting time to join the business with focus on scale, customer acquisition and continuous product improvement

They have a unique accounting tech platform allowing SME & Mid Market businesses to ‘ grow fearlessly’ with no worry around credit control, cash flow management & accounting as it can all be automated through their software.

This role reports directly into the CTO and its an exciting time to join with lots of new product development on the agenda meaning this person will really influence productivity, efficiency and workload for the Dev Team whilst supporting CTO on projects including AI.

We are looking for a confident player manager – My client is a start up with dev team of 8 so we need a hands on engineer who is comfortable supporting with key projects & tasks whilst being a span breaker between CTO and Dev team

• Delivery Predictability Engineering delivers roadmap outcomes aligned to company commercial priorities and timelines
• Engineering Operating System Health Engineering operates fully inside company-wide standards and policies, with minimal drift or exception management
• AI Execution Acceleration AI is deployed pragmatically across product features, engineering productivity, and internal workflows with measurable ROI
• Engineering Team Performance & Growth Developers are coached, measured, and supported to deliver at a high, consistent bar

Responsibilities:

• Own day to day performance & engineering of our tech squads ensuring commercial deadlines are hit
• Implement new frameworks & processes to measure & improve speed of delivery within the engineering team
• Drive predictability & efficiency to meet the product roadmap whilst working closely with product to educate them on project feasibility
• Own expansion & recruitment for the engineering team ensuring we have the skills to deliver on all new & existing tech developments ( This will also include Vendor & Partner Management)
• Partner with the CTO on AI strategy inc execution & roll out
• Hands on work – Front to back end delivery

Requirements for the Engineering Lead

• 5+ Years experience within an engineering capacity within Fintech, Accounting tech or Payments
• Proven success in managing & mentoring a successfully performing dev team remotely
• Examples of how you have increased productivity & efficiency across engineering teams within a start up / scale up environment
• Comfortable delivering on deadlines within a fast paced environment
• Confident stakeholder management – CEO, CPO & Commercial director
• Need experience within– Node, React, Mongo, Agentic, GCP
• Ideal experience with SOC2/ISO27001
• Experience working on AI projects
