A world-leading quantum computing company, backed by major global technology players including Google, is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support the development and deployment of advanced optical embedded systems.

This role sits at the intersection of DevOps, embedded software, and cutting-edge quantum hardware. You will work closely with embedded software and hardware teams to streamline software delivery, automate infrastructure, and ensure high system reliability across both cloud and on-prem environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for embedded software development using tools such as Bitbucket Pipelines or Bamboo
  • Automate build, test, and deployment workflows for optical embedded systems
  • Develop and manage firmware and software delivery pipelines, enabling reliable and efficient release cycles
  • Optimize containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) for embedded and hybrid applications
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent tools
  • Monitor system performance, reliability, and observability using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack
  • Collaborate closely with embedded software engineers and hardware teams to ensure seamless integration of software updates
  • Strengthen security, resilience, and compliance throughout the DevOps lifecycle

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Software Development, or a related discipline
  • 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Embedded Software Development, or Systems Engineering
  • Strong understanding of optical embedded systems and real-time software development
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling, ideally Bitbucket Pipelines or Bamboo
  • Proficiency with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket, GitLab)
  • Solid scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, or Go
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux-based environments
  • Background in monitoring, logging, and performance optimisation for embedded or hardware-adjacent systems
