Senior Data Engineer
CV Technical are pleased to be partnered with a well-established data insights company who has spent the past decade helping global brands make smarter decisions through advanced analytics. Their technology enables the collection and transformation of real-world user data into actionable insights, with a strong emphasis on privacy and responsible data handling.
They are currently seeking a Data Engineer to support the ongoing development of their data offering on a contract basis.
The Role
Working as part of a specialist data team, you will be responsible for transforming raw data signals into structured, reliable datasets that can be used by clients and internal stakeholders.
On a daily basis, you’ll work with SQL, Python, and a range of internal (including AI-enabled) tools to design data structures, apply business rules, validate outputs, and deliver production ready data assets.
This is a hybrid position based in Manchester city centre, requiring regular in-office collaboration, 3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and refine data structures, translating product requirements into scalable datasets
- Build and maintain data pipelines using a mix of internal tooling, SQL, and Python
- Ensure high data quality through validation checks, monitoring, and issue investigation
- Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and data science teams
- Maintain clear and accessible documentation for data products and workflows
- Follow internal policies relating to security, quality, and safe working practices
About You
You enjoy working hands-on with data and have an interest in accurately representing real world behaviour through well-structured datasets.
Essential skills and experience:
- Strong SQL capabilities, including working with large-scale datasets
- Experience with at least one programming language suited to data processing (e.g. Python)
- High attention to detail, particularly around data validation and accuracy
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
- Openness to using AI tools to improve productivity and understanding
Desirable (not essential):
- Experience working with event-level or behavioural datasets
- Understanding of data privacy and governance principles
- Exposure to cloud-based data environments
Offer:
- 6-12 Month contract duration
- Outside IR35
- £400 - £500 per day (dependant on experience)
Only candidates within a sensible, commutable distance to Manchester City centre will be considered as this role requires candidates to be on site 3 days per week.
