We are looking for a motivated Control Systems Engineer to join a market-leading manufacturer. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for supporting and improving the site's control, automation and instrumentation systems.

This is a hands-on role involving PLC fault finding, control system development, electrical documentation and continuous improvement, working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams. Role Description

  • Promote a strong safety-first culture and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Develop, maintain and improve control and instrumentation systems.
  • Provide technical support and PLC fault-finding expertise.
  • Maintain electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
  • Support new installations, machinery upgrades and improvement projects.
  • Identify and implement new technologies and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Support manufacturing teams to improve efficiency, reliability and KPIs.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar Control Systems/Controls role.
  • PLC experience with Siemens, Mitsubishi and/or Omron.
  • Knowledge of industrial automation and instrumentation.
  • 18th Edition (BS 7671:2018) qualification.
  • Manufacturing/industrial experience.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
