Solution Engineer (Automation)

Job Title: Solution Design (part of the Pre-Sales team)

Location - Hybrid (1-2 times a week working from the office based in Milton Keynes)

Salary: up to £50.000 + discretionary bonus equivalent to 10% + pension, medical and life insurance.

Our client specialises in automation solutions within the F&B industry (conveyors, material handling etc); so we are looking for someone with advanced mechanical engineering skills as well as some experience in automation, preferably in industrial / manufacturing / logistics settings.

The Solution Design Engineer will play an important role in driving and supporting the growth of the business in the UK, collaborating with the sales team to deliver customer solutions.

• Identify the best technical solutions for sales, considering the customer requirements, flow analysis and costs
• Create the project layout, the estimate, and the offer
• Evaluate documents/tenders relating to specific requests and interface with other teams (procurement, project operations, industrial operations) to gather necessary information for the development of the project within the required timeframe.
• Process and disseminate the internal order and cost sheet relating to the operational entities of the project sold
• Collaborate with commercial entities to support them from a technical point of view both at headquarters and at the customer premises, making the maximum contribution to the success of the project
• Ensure processing times of all information requested by Area Manager are managed appropriately
• Collaborate closely with the supervisor to be always aligned on the activities and facilitate cooperation with the headquarter

Skills & Experience

• Degree in Mechanical, Management, Mechatronics or Civil Engineering
• Knowledge of automation and automatic machines, industrial plant engineering and industrial logistics
• Knowledge of reading and integrating drawings from external suppliers
• Knowledge of Autocad
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to evaluate and process information accurately
• Problem solving skills
• Collaborative working style and ability to work well in a team
• Highly customer orientated and able to understand the needs of the client
• Results oriented with strong analytical skills
• Proficient in MS Office
