Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Cheltenham for a skilled DevOps Engineer. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure as code (IaC), optimising and executing continuous integration and deployment pipelines, and managing Linux-based systems. The DevOps Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop software solutions and ensure effective system administration, enhancing the organisation's operational efficiency and security posture.

Qualifications

• AWS DevOps: Design, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure; implement CI/CD pipeline automation; apply Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform or CloudFormation; create and maintain deployment workflows and automation scripts.
• Linux & Containerisation: Work with Docker and container orchestration technologies to streamline application development, deployment, scaling, and lifecycle management.
• Scripting & Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts in Bash, Python, or PowerShell to improve efficiency, reduce manual tasks, and enhance system reliability.
• Cloud Operations & Reliability: Monitor and optimise scalable Linux‐based cloud environments; ensure high availability, robust performance, and adherence to security best practices within production and staging environments.

Duties

• Manage and optimise AWS infrastructure, ensuring deployments are secure, scalable, and cost‐efficient.
• Implement, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines to support fast, reliable software delivery.
• Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code for consistent, repeatable environment provisioning.
• Collaborate with development teams to containerise applications and integrate them into automated build/deploy workflows.
• Monitor system performance metrics and respond to operational issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventative measures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by researching and integrating new AWS services, DevOps tools, and best practices
