We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Workshop Technician to join our Workshop Support Department in Oakham.

The Role – What Will You Be Doing? As a Workshop Technician , you will play an essential role in supporting our workshop operations, ensuring machinery and components are prepared, maintained and finished to the highest standards.
Working alongside our experienced engineering teams, no two days will be quite the same. This is a varied, hands-on position where attention to detail, teamwork and a proactive approach are key.
Your typical responsibilities will include:
Cleaning, preparing and dismantling electrical machines and components for repair and refurbishment.
Assisting workshop engineers with assembly and general workshop activities.
Preparing completed machinery for customer collection or dispatch.
Applying protective coatings, spray painting and finishing machinery to customer specifications.
Supporting specialist workshop processes, including component washing, drying, impregnation and oven operations.
Carrying out quality control checks to ensure products meet customer requirements.
Safely moving and positioning machinery and components around the workshop.
Undertaking basic maintenance of workshop tools, machinery and equipment.
Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards and following all health and safety procedures.
Identifying quality concerns and opportunities to improve workshop processes.
Supporting colleagues across different workshop activities to ensure work is completed efficiently and to customer deadlines.
As a Workshop Technician , your contribution will directly support the quality, efficiency and success of our engineering operations.

Essential skills and qualities:
Confidence and experience using basic hand tools.
A good understanding of workplace health and safety.
Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.

Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
A flexible approach to tasks and changing priorities.
Good organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
Desirable but not essential:
Previous experience in an engineering, manufacturing or workshop environment.
Familiarity with quality control procedures.
Basic computer skills.
Experience working with industrial machinery or mechanical components.
