Head of Community
This is a new role for The News Movement as we step into an exciting new chapter for our brand.
We want to build a yet further engaged community - in real life, and around our content. We want to show up in the right places, work with the right people and ensure our audience feels like they're a part of The News Movement.
You'll have experience in similar roles - with a clear understanding of how to drive and build an engaged audience across our key social platforms Instagram, TikTok and YouTube as well as ideas for further products, events, collaborations etc to build our brand.
This role is primarily office or location-based, with opportunities to work from home when appropriate. However, the expectation is that the role is largely in-person.

Co-founded by experienced media leaders and powered by a new generation of journalists, we're tackling misinformation and rebuilding trust by delivering accurate, engaging, and impartial news on the platforms people use every day.
We focus on younger audiences (18-30) and believe great journalism can - and should - be told in bold, creative ways on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and more. Our mission is simple: to help people better understand the world around them.

Our Editorial TeamOur newsrooms in London and New York bring together talented journalists, creators, and producers who know how to spot stories, shape them for digital audiences, and spark meaningful conversations. Collaboration is key - we work across video, design, community, and editorial to deliver content that's factual, relevant, and thought-provoking.

Day to day you will:- Work across our content to ensure we are driving engagement around our editorial content
- Work closely with the Editor-in-Chief and marketing / PR and commercial functions to drive brand awareness and clear growth around our key engagement metrics
- Stay across the media and brand landscape to make sure we are leading the way - not catching up - with trends and behaviours
- Work as part of a small, ambitious, talented team based in London and New York
- Impeccable standards written English, spelling and grammar
- An 'always on' attitude to our brand with a key interest in social trends, behaviours and cultural currency
- High levels of confidence and competence with social platforms - current and emerging
- Unending ambition to help transform TNM from a 'news brand on a social feed' to something tangible
- An organized approach, ability to create a 2026 vision for our community and flex alongside the news agenda
- Excellent presentation and relationship-building skills that enable you to influence senior stakeholders within the business and bring people with you, not 'just' get things done
- A creative streak which means you come with ideas and ways of doing things differently, challenging the status quo and bring the outside-in
- A good industry perspective for what works and has worked - be that in other media brands, organizations or lifestyle businesses that compete for share of mind with our audiences
- Experience in working for an insurgent / challenger brand
- Demonstrable experience interpreting audience analytics
- Event and experiential marketing experience
- A network of cool influencers, agenda setters - and an ability to identify them
- Ability to manage multiple projects
