Location: Midlands (Hybrid)
Salary: £80,000 – £85,000 per annum + benefits
Urgent requirement- we are partnering with a leading organisation within the Property & Casualty insurance sector to identify an experienced Business Analyst with strong Commercial Lines / Underwriting experience. This role sits within a major transformation programme focused on modernising underwriting and policy administration capabilities across the mid-market commercial insurance segment. You will work closely with business stakeholders, underwriters, and technology teams to translate complex underwriting processes into high-quality requirements and deliver solutions that support underwriting, rating, policy administration, and claims capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with business and IT stakeholders to capture, analyse, and document detailed requirements for insurance solutions
- Support agent and underwriter user journeys, including workflows covering risk intake, pricing, underwriting, and policy administration
- Collaborate with product owners, SMEs, and technical teams to ensure solutions align with agreed scope and business requirements
- Document functional, UI, and product requirements using industry-standard methods
- Support configuration of rating logic and business rules across underwriting and policy administration workflows
- Conduct functional testing, troubleshoot issues, and work with teams to ensure timely resolution before deployment
- Assist with UAT coordination, solution demonstrations, and impact analysis for scope changes
- Provide clear documentation, walkthroughs, and knowledge transfer to internal teams and stakeholders
- Contribute to change management activities, including risk, impact, and priority assessments
Requirements
- 10+ years’ experience working as a Business Analyst within P&C
- BA experience with commercial insurance and an SME focus (please outline clearly on CV)
- Proven experience gathering requirements to implement underwriting workbench solution
- Strong ability to bridge business and technical teams with minimal supervision
- Excellent documentation, analytical, and stakeholder communication skills
- Able to work hybrid in West Midlands area
