BIM Coordinator

An established specialist design consultancy is seeking a BIM Coordinator to join its growing Design team, supporting the coordination, management and quality of BIM information across a diverse portfolio of sports facility and infrastructure projects.

The consultancy provides specialist design and consultancy services within the sports sector, delivering projects ranging from major stadiums and elite training facilities through to wider sports infrastructure projects.

Working alongside designers, engineers, technicians, architects and specialist consultants, the successful candidate will play a key role in multidisciplinary project coordination, while also having the opportunity to undertake hands-on Revit modelling and drawing production.

Based at the organisation's head office in West Yorkshire, the role offers the opportunity to develop within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment, with exposure to major projects, international project teams and continued professional development.

The Role

The BIM Coordinator will support the Senior Designer and project Design Leads, taking responsibility for the day-to-day coordination, management and quality of BIM information across assigned projects.

This is a hands-on BIM role, combining model coordination and information management with practical Revit technician and production duties where project workload allows.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate BIM delivery across assigned projects in accordance with project requirements, internal standards and ISO 19650 principles.
• Coordinate project models with architectural, structural, civil, MEP and other consultant models.
• Undertake model reviews, clash detection, model federation and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Manage project model setup, coordinates, links, worksets, model health and information exchanges.
• Support the implementation of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), information requirements and agreed project workflows.
• Undertake QA reviews of Revit models, drawings and associated design information prior to issue.
• Coordinate model and drawing information through project Common Data Environments (CDEs).
• Support Design Leads during multidisciplinary design coordination and BIM meetings.
• Assist with the development and implementation of BIM standards, templates, Revit families and workflows.
• Provide day-to-day BIM and Revit support to designers and technicians.
• Undertake Revit modelling and drawing production where project requirements and workload allow.
• Produce coordinated plans, sections, details, schedules and technical design information.
• Support the modelling and coordination of specialist Field of Play systems, including drainage, irrigation, undersoil heating, ventilation, monitoring and associated infrastructure.
• Support the continued development and improvement of BIM and digital design processes across the Design team.

What They're Looking For

The consultancy is particularly interested in candidates with experience working within an engineering or multidisciplinary design environment, ideally from a:

• Mechanical Engineering background.
• MEP / Building Services environment.
• Drainage, water or infrastructure background.
• Multidisciplinary engineering consultancy.

You should have:

• Strong practical Autodesk Revit experience.
• Experience within a BIM Coordinator, Revit Technician or similar BIM-focused role.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design information.
• Good understanding of drawings, pipework, drainage, levels, plant and utility interfaces.
• Experience working within BIM-led project environments.
• Working knowledge of ISO 19650 and BIM information management principles.
• Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360 or other Common Data Environments.
• Experience with Navisworks and clash detection/model coordination.
• Strong understanding of technical drawing production and model QA.
• Good communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Confidence coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors and other members of multidisciplinary project teams.
• Ability to work across multiple projects while remaining actively involved in model and drawing production.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D would be advantageous.
• A degree, HNC/HND or equivalent professional experience in BIM, Civil, Mechanical, Building Services, Infrastructure or another relevant engineering discipline would be advantageous.

Previous experience within sports-surface or Field of Play design would be desirable but is not essential. Specialist training will be provided in Field of Play systems, including sports pitch drainage, irrigation, undersoil heating, ventilation, monitoring and associated infrastructure.
