Senior Infrastructure Engineer

An established and forward-thinking engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Civil Engineer to support the continued growth of its civil engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who is confident in managing projects independently while contributing to a collaborative and technically strong environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering infrastructure designs across a diverse portfolio of developments, working closely with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary design teams.
The Role
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for managing, leading and delivering the design of multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring schemes are completed on time, within budget and to the highest technical standards.
You will:
Lead the technical delivery of infrastructure designs from concept through to construction
Develop and agree on engineering strategies and ensure these are implemented effectively
Oversee and produce detailed highway and drainage designs
Negotiate and secure technical approvals for adoptable works (S104, S38, S278 and related agreements)
Liaise directly with local authorities, statutory bodies and clients
Ensure all designs comply with current Codes of Practice, industry standards and Health & Safety legislation
Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, planners and other stakeholders
Mentor junior engineers and technicians where required
Attend client and design team meetings, representing the business professionally

Technical Requirements
Strong working knowledge and hands-on experience in:
Highway design and ground modelling
Drainage design and hydraulic modelling, including sustainable drainage systems (SuDS)
External works and levels design, including Part M compliance
Earthworks assessments and cut/fill strategies
Industry Codes of Practice and relevant Health & Safety legislation
Software experience required:
AutoCAD
PDS or XP Site 3D (or equivalent design software)
MicroDrainage WinDes / Flow (or similar hydraulic modelling software)
Microsoft Office packages
Qualifications & Experience
Ideally, 5-10 years' experience within a consultancy environment
Educated to Degree or HNC level in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and approving authorities
Ability to manage workload across multiple projects
