Job summary
Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a forward-thinking AI Development Analyst to join the Chief Nurse's Office Quality and Safety Project and Improvement Team and help shape the future of digital transformation across Addenbrooke's and the Rosie Hospitals.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about improving how people work, reducing administrative burden, and helping staff get the most out of digital tools. You'll play a key role in supporting the adoption, optimisation and development of innovative technologies--including Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Copilot and emerging AI-enabled solutions--to enhance productivity, streamline workflows and improve staff and patient experience.
About the role As an AI Development Analyst, you will work directly with clinical and non-clinical teams to understand their workflows, identify opportunities for improvement, and help embed smarter, safer and more efficient ways of working. You'll provide hands-on support with digital tools, deliver training and coaching, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to service improvement and change initiatives across the Trust.
You'll also support the development of agentic workflows and automation solutions, helping teams adopt new technologies confidently and sustainably. Your work will directly contribute to improving quality, efficiency and the overall experience of staff and patients.
Main duties of the job
The AI Development Analyst will play a key role in supporting the Trust's digital transformation agenda by leading the adoption, optimisation and development of innovative digital solutions across clinical and non-clinical services.
The worker will focus primarily on the effective use of Microsoft technologies and the development of agentic workflows to streamline processes, reduce administrative burden and enhance staff experience. Working closely with operational, clinical and corporate teams, they will identify opportunities to redesign workflows, automate routine tasks and embed smarter ways of working through the use of Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Copilot and other emerging digital tools.
The role will require a proactive and forward-thinking individual who can translate service needs into practical digital solutions that deliver measurable benefits. You will provide advice, support optimisation activity, coordinate innovation projects and help teams adopt new technologies safely and effectively.
The worker will also contribute to service improvement, stakeholder engagement, training and change management, ensuring that innovation is aligned to organisational priorities, governance requirements and the overall aim of improving quality, efficiency and patient care.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent level of knowledge and experience in digital transformation, informatics, information technology, service improvement or a related field
- Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to digital systems, data analysis, service improvement or change management
- Training in data analysis, quality improvement, Power BI, Power Platform or similar digital tools
Experience
- Experience of supporting the use and optimisation of digital tools in a complex working environment
- Experience of working directly with frontline staff to understand workflows, identify inefficiencies and support improvements
- Experience of delivering digital change, service improvement or transformation activity
- Experience of working within the NHS or other large complex public sector organisation
- Experience of developing and delivering training, coaching or user support
- Experience of using Epic Electronic Health Record systems
Knowledge
