Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to become part of the Imaging Department at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This position would involve working within our established administration team as a Medical Secretary. The admin team work extremely hard behind the scenes to ensure that patients have a positive experience when they have contact with the service and we are seeking an individual who will be able to further enhance this team.

Main duties of the job

You will provide a comprehensive Medical Secretary and PA service to Consultants within the speciality, including coordinating meetings, optimising Clinic time, ensuring compliance with CCG requirements, producing clinic letters, other documents and dealing with patient and GP queries and concerns in a sympathetic and constructive manner.

Where required, line management of Band 3 support secretaries, including mentoring for career progression and overseeing the progress of Apprentices.

Essential
  • oEducated to A Level or Level 3 Business Admin /IT qualification or equivalent experience including: -English GCSE pass at grade 4 or above -Maths GCSE pass at grade 4 or above
  • oTouch typing certificate or equivalent experience
  • oAudio typing experience
  • oSecretarial qualification (RSA III) or equivalent experience
Desirable
  • oIT specialist, health informatics qualification or equivalent
  • oTeam Leader/Management qualification
  • oMedical Terminology Certificate or equivalent
