An established organisation is seeking a Disaster Recovery Manager to help protect critical IT services and ensure resilience across a complex technology environment.

This is a key role responsible for planning, implementing, testing, and continuously improving IT Disaster Recovery (DR) capabilities to minimise disruption and support business continuity during major incidents.

About the Role

Reporting into the Service Delivery function, you will lead the organisation s Disaster Recovery strategy and framework, working closely with infrastructure teams, senior stakeholders, and third-party suppliers.

You will ensure systems and services are prepared for potential disruptions and support successful recovery processes that meet agreed recovery objectives with minimal operational impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and maintain the organisation s Disaster Recovery Plan, ensuring it remains current and aligned with changes across the IT estate
  • Define and maintain DR standards and ensure consistent implementation across services and suppliers
  • Identify and manage DR risks and single points of failure, supporting mitigation planning and controls
  • Design and deliver Disaster Recovery testing and validation programmes covering people, processes, systems, and technology
  • Coordinate DR exercises and simulations, including reporting outcomes and lessons learned
  • Maintain IT recovery documentation and critical contact information
  • Review and assess third-party Disaster Recovery capabilities and supplier resilience
  • Align Disaster Recovery activities with wider Business Continuity programmes and policies

This role supports a large portfolio of business-critical services and requires close collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

About You

You will have experience working within IT service delivery, infrastructure, assurance, audit, or project management environments, with the confidence to work effectively in high-impact and time-sensitive situations.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Project Management
    • Infrastructure Management
    • IT Audit or Assurance
    • PMO development and management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Strong planning, coordination, and organisational skills
  • Proven stakeholder management experience, including working with external suppliers
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage expectations
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation standards
Desirable
  • Previous experience in Disaster Recovery management
  • Understanding of fault-tolerant or mission-critical infrastructure and application environments
