Join a leading investment bank in London as a Senior Linux, AIX & Oracle Database Administrator , playing a key role in maintaining and evolving the technology platforms that power complex trading, treasury, and finance operations.

This is a hands-on, senior technical role where you’ll enhance systems stability, optimise performance, and drive automation across mission-critical environments supporting Oracle Flexcube and Oracle ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and optimise Oracle databases supporting core banking and trading platforms.
  • Manage and maintain Linux (RHEL/Oracle Linux) and AIX servers across high-availability environments.
  • Perform system upgrades, patching, capacity planning , and performance tuning.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to resolve incidents and fine-tune service reliability.
  • Design and maintain backup, recovery, and replication strategies using RMAN and Data Guard .
  • Automate operational procedures using shell scripting and configuration management tools.
  • Ensure systems comply with internal security standards and regulatory requirements .
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning , testing, and documentation.
  • Provide on-call support for critical production systems.

Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years’ experience as an Oracle DBA , including RAC, ASM , and tuning .
  • 5+ years in Linux (RHEL/Oracle Linux) and AIX administration, ideally in financial services.
  • Expertise in SQL, PL/SQL , and Unix shell scripting for automation and optimization.
  • Hands-on experience supporting Flexcube databases or similar core banking systems.
  • Strong grasp of financial systems architecture and ITIL-aligned operational processes.
  • Proficiency with monitoring tools (OEM, Nagios) and log analysis .
  • Excellent problem-solving , communication , and collaboration skills.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with WebLogic in enterprise or banking settings.
  • Exposure to regulated, high-availability environments within investment or corporate banking.
