Technical Sales Design Engineer (CAD)
Great heating solutions start long before anything reaches site – they begin with accurate designs, sound decisions and a clear understanding of what the customer actually needs. As a Technical Sales Design Engineer (CAD), you’ll turn customer requirements into practical, cost-effective HVAC solutions while seeing your work progress from initial specification through to quotation and potential order.You’ll combine AutoCAD with commercial awareness, working from technical information, specifications and heat-loss calculations to develop heating solutions that work in the real world. Alongside the design work, you’ll provide guidance to customers and colleagues, prepare quotations and help turn opportunities into successful orders.What’s in it for you

- Produce commercial heating solutions from customer specifications, technical information, drawings and heat-loss calculations.
- Use AutoCAD to create designs that meet application requirements while remaining practical and cost-effective.
- Prepare customer quotations and progress opportunities with the aim of converting them into orders.
- Provide guidance to internal and external customers on product operation, applications and individual components.
- Carry out site surveys where required to confirm information before producing the proposed heating solution.
- Work with sales and customer service colleagues to identify potential leads, resolve order issues and support opportunities through the sales process.
- Practical experience using AutoCAD for technical work.
- Previous experience within a technical or sales design environment, ideally involving HVAC, heating or humidification products.
- Experience interpreting technical specifications and developing suitable customer solutions.
- Experience preparing quotations and working with CRM or quotation systems.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
