Database Administrator – Halifax
I am recruiting on behalf of a stable and growing company for someone who would like the opportunity to become their first dedicated SQL Server DBA.
This is a hands-on position where you will take full responsibility for the Microsoft SQL Server environment supporting multiple business-critical systems.
Other responsibilities include:
- Oversee data transformations and imports, including new client onboarding
- Carry out direct production database updates with precision and strong risk awareness
- Monitor performance, diagnose issues, and implement tuning improvements
- Improve and evolve internal database tools and processes
- Champion data integrity, resilience, and security
- Identify opportunities to introduce automation and AI-driven efficiencies within the DBA function
We are looking for someone with:
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+)
- Confidence working in live production environments
- Proactive, detail-focused, and risk-aware
- Clear communicator able to work across technical and operational teams
