Salary: £30,000-£35,000

Overview

This well-established and growing company are seeking a talented 2nd Line Support Engineer to join their collaborative team in Lancaster. This is an in-office role so you must be able to reliably commute to site.

This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges while delivering exceptional customer service. You’ll support a diverse client base and contribute to IT projects.

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 2nd line technical support, troubleshooting and resolving escalated issues efficiently and professionally.
• Deliver high-quality support across a range of infrastructure and end-user technologies.
• Assist in planning, scoping, and delivering IT projects aligned to client requirements.
• Lead and support new customer onboarding, ensuring smooth transitions and accurate documentation.
• Maintain clear communication with clients throughout support requests and project delivery.
• Support and mentor junior team members where required.

Key Technical Skills

Required Experience

• Previous experience in a 2nd Line Support role within an MSP.
• Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy & Exchange.
• Windows 10/11 desktop support.
• Virtualisation technologies (VMware or Hyper-V).
• Server hardware support and maintenance.
• Wireless networking.
• Backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Microsoft 365 setup and administration.
• Email security solutions (spam filtering, anti-spoofing protection).
