Information Technology Support Engineer

Role: IT Support Engineer (1st/2nd Line)

Location: North Manchester

Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 DOE

Monday-Friday | 9:00am-5:00pm | In Office

An established IT services provider is seeking an IT Support Engineer to join its growing technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a 1st/2nd Line Engineer looking to develop their skills, gain exposure to project work, and progress towards a 3rd Line support position.

The successful candidate will join a close-knit helpdesk team, supporting a diverse client base across the Northwest area. While the role is primarily office-based, there will be regular opportunities to visit client sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1st and 2nd Line technical support to a range of business clients
  • Managing and resolving support tickets within agreed service levels
  • Answering support calls and delivering excellent customer service
  • Troubleshooting hardware, software and networking issues
  • Supporting Microsoft 365 environments
  • Assisting with SharePoint and Intune administration
  • Supporting Windows desktop and server environments
  • Providing onsite support when required
  • Assisting with infrastructure upgrades, deployments and project work
  • Working closely with senior engineers to develop technical knowledge and skills

Technical Environment:

The successful candidate will ideally have experience with some of the following technologies:

  • Microsoft 365
  • Windows environments
  • SharePoint
  • Intune
  • Networking fundamentals
  • 3CX
  • Halo PSA
  • Datto RMM

Candidate Requirements:

The client is seeking an individual who combines strong technical skills with excellent communication and customer service abilities.

Applicants should possess:

  • Previous experience in a 1st/2nd Line IT Support role
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A professional and customer-focused approach
  • Confidence in both telephone and face-to-face customer interactions
  • The ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • A willingness to learn and develop technical expertise
  • Previous MSP experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

Essential Criteria:

  • Full UK driving licence
