Data Product Manager (Domain) - Hybrid

I'm working with a client who is looking to appoint a Data Product Manager from an Insurance background to help drive data led innovation across their organisation. This role sits within a global data, analytics and AI function focused on delivering commercial value, improving efficiency and embedding a strong data

culture.

The Role

This is a key leadership position responsible for defining product strategy and roadmaps for data products within a dedicated domain. You will work across a range of product areas throughout the business including underwriting, marketing and claims acting as the link between business strategy, technology teams and end users. The role ensures data products deliver tangible value and support wider organisational goals. You will also matrix manage delivery teams and coach business stakeholders to improve data literacy and identify opportunities for enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Strategy: Define and communicate a clear product vision aligned to business objectives.

• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with engineering, analytics, marketing, underwriting, claims and external partners to gather requirements, prioritise work and manage expectations.

• Product Lifecycle Ownership: Lead cross functional teams through ideation, design, development, testing and deployment ensuring quality and timely delivery.

• Data Culture: Promote adoption of data products and help remove barriers to data driven ways of working.

• Governance and Compliance: Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations such as GDPR, uphold data quality and follow governance best practice.

• Performance Monitoring: Track product performance, review key metrics and drive continuous improvement.

• Communication and Documentation: Produce clear documentation, reports and presentations to maintain alignment throughout the lifecycle.

Person Specification

• Strong understanding of data architectures, analytics platforms and emerging technologies including AI and machine learning.

• Commercial awareness and familiarity with governance frameworks and market trends.

• Excellent analytical skills and ability to turn complex data into actionable insight.

• Skilled in Agile delivery, project planning and cross functional leadership.

• Exceptional communication skills suitable for both technical and non technical audiences.

• Proactive problem solver with a solutions focused mindset.

• Experience within the insurance or wider financial services sector. (Essential)

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence or similar collaboration tools.
