Senior Software Engineer – St Helens (Hybrid)
Candour are recruiting on behalf of a long-standing client where we have made multiple successful placements into the team and we are now supporting them with the growth of their Engineering/Software Team.
Due to continued growth and ongoing investment in technology, they are now looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to play a key role in shaping their platform and technical direction.
This is not a role focused purely on delivery. It offers the chance to influence architecture, contribute to technical decision-making, and build modern, cloud-native products that operate at scale.
As a Senior Engineer, the successful candidate will take ownership across the full development lifecycle, from initial design through to deployment and continuous improvement.
- Design and build scalable microservices powering a SaaS platform
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Build and enhance RESTful APIs and backend services
- Work across SQL and NoSQL data stores
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and stakeholders in an Agile environment
- Contribute to architecture decisions and technical direction
- Lead by example through code reviews and engineering best practices
- Support the evolution of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
What they are looking for
- 5+ years’ experience in software development
- Strong expertise in C# / .NET
- Frontend experience with React or Vue
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, including Cosmos DB, AKS (Kubernetes), Event Hubs / Service Bus, and Blob Storage
- Solid understanding of microservices and distributed systems
- Experience working in Agile teams
