The RoleCapco is seeking a Business Analyst with strong Commercial and Specialty Insurance expertise to join our growing Insurance practice. This role focuses on business analysis, requirements engineering, and supporting the delivery of complex transformation programmes across the insurance value chain.
You will work closely with stakeholders across leading insurers in Property, Liability, Marine, Energy, and other Specialty lines to analyse business processes, define requirements, and support the design and implementation of target solutions. From early discovery and impact assessment through to delivery and benefits realisation, you will play a key role in enabling effective change across underwriting, claims, and policy administration functions.
What You'll DoLead and support business analysis activities across Commercial & Specialty Insurance transformation initiatives, from discovery through to implementationElicit, analyse, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements using structured techniquesConduct current state analysis, including process mapping, gap analysis, and impact assessment across underwriting, claims, and policy administrationSupport the design of target operating models and future state processes aligned to business objectivesFacilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions to gather requirements and validate solutionsTranslate business needs into clear delivery artefacts, including user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteriaSupport delivery activities including backlog management, testing, UAT coordination, and change impact assessmentIdentify opportunities for process optimisation, digital enablement, and operational efficiency improvementsWhat We're Looking ForStrong experience as a Business Analyst within Commercial or Specialty Insurance, including London Market or corporate insurance environmentsKnowledge of Specialty lines such as Property, Liability, Marine, or EnergyProven experience in requirements gathering, process modelling, and supporting business or technology transformation initiativesAbility to bridge business and technology stakeholders, translating complex requirements into actionable outputsStrong stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skillsStructured analytical thinking with experience using BA tools and techniques (e.g. BPMN, user stories, data analysis)Bonus Points ForExperience with insurance platforms such as Guidewire, Sequel, or legacy policy/claims systemsExposure to Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, or hybrid) and working within product-led environmentsExperience supporting post-merger integration, regulatory change, or ESG initiativesProfessional certifications such as BCS Business Analysis, CBAP, PRINCE2, or Scrum-related qualificationsExperience working in consulting or client-facing delivery rolesExposure to AI-enabled solutions, automation, or advanced data use casesWhy Join CapcoDeliver impactful, business-led transformation for leading insurersWork in a collaborative, flat, and entrepreneurial consulting environmentAccess continuous learning, training, and professional certificationsContribute to shaping the future of Commercial & Specialty InsurancePlay a key role in driving digital and operational transformation across financial servicesWe offer a competitive, people-first benefits package designed to support every aspect of your life: Core Benefits: Discretionary bonus, competitive pension, health insurance, life insurance and critical illness coverMental
