About the role you’re considering

We are seeking an Engagement Manager with consulting and/or engineering experience to join Capgemini Engineering. We are looking to attract candidates with a track record of project and bid management, consulting and client relationship building in complex delivery and/or engineering environments.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your role

As an Engagement Manager, you will be responsible for working closely with clients in a consultative capacity to identify solutions to their business problems. This will involve scoping out bids alongside the client and internal SMEs, managing the bid activities, and mobilising and delivering projects that will lead to the convergence of physical and digital worlds through technology, engineering and manufacturing expertise.

Client liaison – being the key point of contact for an emerging programme of work

Leading a team and supporting the strategic direction from the business

Developing and supporting team members

Project planning and controls

Tracking and reporting progress to time, cost and quality

Enacting profitability and margin improvement initiatives

Forecasting and project finances

Your skills and experience

Essential

  • Ability to work with clients to derive solutions from uncertain requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering engineering development or digital/cultural transformation projects in a leading/management role.
  • Demonstrable experience of management consultancy or collaboration with clients during bid or digital transformation activity.
  • 5 years' experience in project, programme or bid management.
  • Leadership of complex, multi-functional teams to time, cost and quality objectives.
  • Proficient with project finances, revenue recognition, margin improvement, risk management and month-end reporting.
  • Proven ability to plan and organise projects effectively, with excellent attention to detail.
  • A developed understanding of business and finance, project planning and scheduling, budgeting and cost management, revenue recognition and contract management.
  • Must be a Sole UK National and able to obtain MOD SC clearance.

Preferable

  • Degree qualified or equivalent in an Engineering Discipline, or experience working in complex engineering environments.
  • Experience of delivering complex projects across Aerospace & Defence sectors.
  • Experience of CAD and PLM Transformation projects.
  • Experience of working in a consultancy organisation.
