Rate: £583p/d max via Umbrella

Role Description:

We are looking for a Lead Engineer to join our programme team Utilising and enhancing AI Accelerators to speed up and where possible automate the process.
The Lead Engineer is responsible for designing and delivering complex, multi-technology solutions within the business. This role combines technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring responsibilities to ensure high-quality engineering practices and alignment with business standards.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Delivery:
o Design, describe, and oversee large-scale, multi-technology solutions for projects.
o Ensure compliance with engineering best practices and security standards.
Leadership & Mentoring:
o Coach and mentor junior engineers to develop technical and professional skills.
o Actively contribute to the programme leadership team.
Stakeholder Management:
o Interface with senior stakeholders across business.
o Act as a trusted advisor, influencing technical direction and business outcomes.
Business Impact:
o Identify opportunities for innovation and contribute to planning activities.
o Drive initiatives that enhance reputation and client relationships.

Technical Skills

Expertise in designing complex solutions across multiple technologies (eg, Microsoft stack, Java, cloud platforms).
Experience of Relational Databases (eg Ingres, Oracle, Azure SQL)
Strong understanding of architectural principles, security, and integration patterns.
Ability to set technical strategy and guide teams through delivery challenges.

Preferred Experience

Proven track record in leading engineering teams within large-scale delivery programs.
Experience in government environments is advantageous.
Industry certifications (eg, Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Professional) are desirable.
