Location: Hybrid – 1–2 days a week in Rushden Hours: 37.5 per week (flexible shifts between 8am–5:30pm) Contract: 9-month fixed-term contract Reports to: Payroll Compliance & Reporting Manager
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a detail-oriented Payroll Systems Tester to join a leading organisation on a hybrid basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in testing payroll system changes, integrations, and enhancements to ensure accuracy, compliance, and a seamless payroll experience.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys problem-solving, collaborating across teams, and working within complex HR and payroll systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test scripts for payroll system changes and integrations.
 - Work closely with IT teams and service providers to ensure updates are accurate, compliant, and delivered on time.
 - Capture and document test results for audit and quality assurance.
 - Simulate payroll scenarios to validate data accuracy and compliance.
 - Identify, log, and track bugs or issues through to resolution.
 - Support testing during key cycles such as Tax Year End and system updates.
 - Provide payroll systems expertise and guidance to HR and payroll teams.
 - Maintain up-to-date test documentation, process maps, and work instructions.
 
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in payroll systems testing within complex environments.
 - Strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processes and UK payroll legislation.
 - Experience with Oracle EBS Payroll (or similar systems).
 - Skilled in creating and managing test scripts, data, and simulations.
 - Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
 - Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
 - Confident working independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
