Light Vehicle Technician Apprentice
Be a part of the incredibly successful CarSupermarket.com based at our Goole Car Preparation site, working towards the Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (light vehicle) Apprenticeship. The Apprenticeship role involves providing essential servicing, maintenance, and repairs to a variety of makes and models of vehicles.
Role
Day-to-day tasks will vary but include:
- Servicing - carrying out vehicle/tyre checks
- MOT’s - assisting to identify parts with wear and tear
- Vehicle Maintenance - replacing/repairing engine parts
- Diagnostics – using the latest diagnostic equipment
- Maintaining repair and service records
The techniques and daily responsibilities you will learn will include:
- Using diagnostic, mechanical and electrical measuring equipment to investigate vehicle faults and identify their underlying causes
- Inspecting and preparing fleet vehicles ready for mechanical work
- Removing, repairing or replacing components to the correct specification
- Contributing to a safe working environment, by working within Health and Safety processes
- Admin duties that include updating job cards
Training
Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (Light Vehicle) Apprenticeship Standard:
- During this 3-year apprenticeship programme, you will attend the GTA one day per week
- At the GTA you will learn the underpinning knowledge and understanding of the main aspects of the motor vehicle service and maintenance technician apprenticeship
- The training is delivered in the classroom, IT suite and in our state of the art workshop
- Professional technical training leading to Diagnostic / Master Technician, MOT Tester status or sector-specific advanced qualifications
