Fixed Wire Test Engineer

Electrical Compliance Engineer

Salary: Competitive

About the Opportunity

We're working with a well-established engineering and compliance specialist that is looking to expand its field-based team with the addition of an experienced Electrical Compliance Engineer.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied workload, autonomy in their day-to-day activities, and the chance to work across a diverse range of commercial and industrial environments. You'll be responsible for delivering electrical compliance services, technical inspections, and detailed reporting while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Unlike many service roles, most assignments are completed at a single site each day, allowing you to focus on delivering quality work rather than spending your time travelling between multiple locations.

The Role

As a Electrical Compliance Engineer, you will:

  • Conduct electrical compliance inspections and condition assessments across commercial and industrial facilities
  • Produce detailed technical reports and supporting documentation
  • Carry out associated surveying and fault-identification activities where required
  • Ensure all job records, reports, and paperwork are completed accurately and submitted within agreed timescales
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with site contacts and key stakeholders
  • Support the development of junior engineers through coaching and mentoring
  • Uphold high standards of health, safety, and technical compliance
  • Effectively manage company equipment, vehicles, and administrative responsibilities

What We're Looking For

We're keen to speak with electrically qualified professionals who can demonstrate experience in inspection, testing, verification, or electrical compliance activities within commercial or industrial environments.

You'll also have:

  • Relevant electrical qualifications and inspection/testing credentials
  • Strong knowledge of current electrical regulations and industry standards
  • The ability to accurately assess electrical installations and identify non-compliance issues
  • Excellent attention to detail and report-writing skills
  • A proactive and organised approach to your workload
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own site schedule
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Flexibility to travel and occasionally undertake work outside standard hours when required

What's in It for You?

  • Competitive salary
  • Overtime paid at 1.5X standard rate
  • Company vehicle and fuel card
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Investment in professional development and ongoing technical training
  • Clear opportunities for career progression
  • Stable, long-term opportunity with an established and growing business
  • Diverse project portfolio across commercial and industrial sectors

Apply Now

If you're looking for a role that offers variety, independence, and the opportunity to further develop your technical expertise within a supportive environment, we'd love to hear from you.

Applications are welcomed from experienced electrical professionals, and we encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't align perfectly with every requirement listed above.
