Senior Simulation and Modelling Engineer
Carbon60 is seeking an experienced Simulation and Modelling Engineer to join their dynamic team working on a fast-paced and challenging project. In this role, you will be responsible for the development of specific aspects of the performance model used to support a key programme within the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Developing computer simulations and Simulink models from mathematical specifications
- Integrating components from within the team and other project areas
- Designing, implementing, testing, and reviewing models, ensuring compliance with quality standards
- Maintaining appropriate design records and supporting documentation
- Interacting autonomously with other functional teams, such as Guidance Navigation & Control, Software, and Systems Design & Validation
- Performing technical analyses and investigations to identify and resolve issues
- Engaging with model users to understand their needs and ensure the model is fit for its intended use
Required Skills and Qualifications
- An appropriate engineering degree or master's degree, such as in Systems, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics
- Proven experience in Simulation and Modelling, preferably in the aerospace industry
- Proficiency in using The MathWorks products, specifically Simulink, Embedded MATLAB, and Stateflow
- Ability to produce computer simulations and Simulink models from mathematical specifications
- Strong understanding of the modelling process and working within a quality-driven environment
- Knowledge of coding standards and experience with languages such as C, FORTRAN, or Ada
- Familiarity with configuration management tools like Rational Team Concert and requirement management tools like DOORS
- Experience with autocode generation from Simulink
Location: Bristol
Clearance: Security Clearance - SC
Duration: 12 months (possible extension)
Pay rate: Umbrella £75 per hour
Work Structure: Full time onsite (4-day compression available)
