Highly Specialist Team Lead Physiotherapist – MSK Occupational Health

Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an existing or aspiring advanced practitioner to join our clinical leadership team. You will join a progressive team with a clear vision to deliver high quality care for the people of Cardiff and Vale, in alignment with our one team therapies, clinical rehabilitation model. You will lead our MSK Physiotherapy Occupational Health service, continuing its development in line with the Occupational Health and Physiotherapy service strategies.

You will contribute to our growing movement which is turning rhetoric to reality in delivering co-produced, value based and person-centred care. Support as part of daily practice is integral to our model in all four pillars. This includes support from our large team of clinical colleagues within Physiotherapy and the MSK multidisciplinary team (occupational health, podiatry, hand therapy, dietetics, psychology, orthopaedics, rheumatology and radiology) and from innovation and improvement, value-based healthcare and R&D teams. Our soon to be launched training and development framework and existing values-based appraisal's will align to the enhanced, advanced and consultant framework, enabling opportunities for everyone to progress across all 4 pillars of advanced and 5 pillars of consultant practice at a pace that suits them.

Main duties of the job

The successful post holder will lead our MSK Physiotherapy Occupational Health service, including both self-referral and manager referral models of care. This Health Board wide role will be based at University Hospital of Wales providing clinical leadership and delivery in both Occupational health and our Locality MSK Physiotherapy service. They will work with the team to deliver timely and accurate diagnosis, secondary prevention and supportive treatments, whilst transferring care to other specialities and MDT services appropriately. Our integrated model gives a unique opportunity for practice-based learning and quality improvement within a team environment where skills and processes are shared and grown. You will be supported, and support others to develop and progress skills in education, quality improvement, research and leadership.

Essential
  • Recognised qualification degree / equivalent in physiotherapy; HCPC Registration; Specialist Training/ courses to Postgraduate Diploma Level ; Evidence of M level learning or relevant higher- level qualification and experience
Desirable
  • Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy; Masters level qualification or equivalent

Experience

Essential
  • Significant post registration clinical experience in a physiotherapy position at senior level in the specialist area; Experience of providing clinical supervision; Evidence of clinical leadership and assisting in planning and developing of an existing service; Change management experience; Experience as working as part of a multidisciplinary team; Experience of teaching other disciplines
