Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Cardiff & Vale's Clinical Radiology Department. We are currently looking for a Radiology IM&T Clinical Support Officer to help support the Radiology IM&T Service Manager in the daily operations of the Radiology departments IM&T Systems (PAC's & RIS). Potential candidates will need to demonstrate experience of managing Clinical IM&T Systems principally within the NHS or Healthcare Setting,Past System management or supervisory experience is key to the role.

Consideration to candidates without this may be given if sufficient IM&T Knowledge is evidenced, and candidates are able to demonstrate well, the wider, transferrable experience they have gained from non Clinical IM&T Roles.

The Radiology IM&T Clinical Support Officer, sits within a supportive management structure Within the PAC's Team. There will be active support and encouragement for the successful candidate to learn and develop within this team, with a view to them moving along the structure when opportunities arise.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will maintain and provide training for all Radiology information and technology systems (IM&T) including Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS), Radiology reporting system - Clinical Workforce Manager (CWM) and the Radiology information system (RIS)

The post holder will support theRadiology IM&T Service Manager in the organisation and Support, of comprehensive and effective Radiology Clinical IM&T service across all Cardiff & Vale University Health Board Sites.

Maintained and functioning at optimum performance 24hours a day, 7 days a week as part of an OnCall Rota.

The post holder will oversee the relevant voice recognition system, will have great knowledge of ICT processes, SQL databases, and be able to interpret data to a high statistical standard to undertake performance analysis for the directorate to support business, workforce and clinical decision making, Training for Radiology IM&T Systems will also be provided to other Health Board staff where appropriate

The post holder will work closely with the Radiology IM&T Service Manager in liaising with all key Members of Radiology IM&T Team responsible for ICT systems within the Radiology, Medical Physics & Clinical Engineering Directorate including liaising with external stakeholders as required.

Qualifications

Essential
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 5 or above, including Maths and English
  • Degree in an ICT related subject or in-depth knowledge gained through working in an NHS IMT Environment
  • Knowledge of SQL and Databases. Working Knowledge of a Medical ICT system
  • Experienced with NHS Work experience within NHS ICT Support environments
Desirable
  • Relevant Post Graduate qualification Management training
  • ITIL v3 or v4 Foundation
  • Experience of IT developments, Knowledge of networks and communication protocols. Understanding of network infrastructure and hardware Database administration knowledge. Analytical approach to problem solving
  • Flexible Evidence of problem solving Analytical skills. Experience as a researcher. Experience of working in a Multi-Disciplinary Team (M.D.T.)
