QA Engineer

Location: Hybrid working (1-2 days Becrypt Head Office/Home Working)

Responsible to: QA Team Lead

Job Purpose: We are seeking a technically skilled Test Engineer to join our dynamic Agile teams, where you will design and automate test cases, collaborate with developers, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software products.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

• Developing a deep understanding of the product and system under test.
• Designing, writing, and maintaining automated and manual test cases.
• Executing test plans including scripted, exploratory, regression, and integration testing.
• Collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve defects.
• Participating actively in Agile processes like sprint planning and reviews to ensure quality integration.
• Evaluating test results, documenting defects, and reporting status to the team.

Skills and Experience:

Essential

• Minimum three years’ experience working as a tester
• Demonstrable ability to write efficient and effective manual tests
• A strong interest in the technical side of information technology and software development
• Working knowledge of Ubuntu or other Linux distributions
• Use of defect tracking tools (Jira, Xray)
• Good understanding of API testing
• Basic networking knowledge
• Basic understanding of windows infrastructure such as Active directory, Certificate Services.
• Comfortable using command line tools
• Debug / troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal
• STEM degree or similar equivalent qualifications

Desirable

• Working knowledge of docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of web security
• Basic understanding of API automation using python
