Global Data Governance Senior Manager, Head of Data, CDO, Governance, London

Global Data Governance Manager, Head of Data, Professional Services, Partnership Firm, Regulated Environment, Governance, Compliance, CDO, Central London

Global Data Governance Manager / Head of Data required to work for an exciting Professional Services firm based in Central London. Due to the seniority of the role, it is mainly in-person / office based, along with some Global Travel to the United States, Europe and the Far East.

This is a senior leadership role reporting into the Head of Business Intelligence, providing leadership to the Data Governance team and the wider governance community, including the Data Governors Board and Data Stewardship Council, ensuring consistent adoption, clear accountability, and alignment with business priorities and regulatory expectations. This requires a balance of both a bottom-up and top-down approach to embedding and supporting effective Data Governance. We also need someone with a modern approach to Data, including experience with AI and Automation, where you can bring new ideas into the firm.

In summary, we need someone who is proven with significant strategic experience, but must also demonstrate practical execution. Ideally you would have started your data career being hands on and technical, but since moved away from it into leadership / data strategy. There must also be clear evidence of C-Suite or Partner-Level stakeholder management. Read on for more details...

Experience required:

  • Solid ‘Global Remit’ or ‘Multi National’ experience working within a Partnership Firm
  • Senior Data Leadership experience within a heavily regulated environment
  • Confident working with Partners, senior stakeholders and C-suite leaders
  • Proven ability to deliver complex change across governance, quality, integration and data programmes
  • Technology First experience with knowledge of the likes of Data Bricks, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, SALI, NosLegal
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly and practically
  • Ability to be a great negotiator and have proven stakeholder management skills in difficult situations (with the battle scars to prove it!)
  • Heavy background with strategy including solid commercial judgement and a delivery-focused mindset
  • Experience building data culture, continuous improvement and governance frameworks
  • Understanding of modern data platforms, architectures and approaches
  • Experience with automation or artificial intelligence programmes
  • Data protection qualifications such as CIPP/E or CIPM are helpful but not essential
  • Comfortable handling complexity, managing competing priorities and standing your ground when needed
  • We do not want a Data Engineer but if your career started with something like being a ‘Data Analyst’, this would be advantageous

It is a great opportunity and salary is dependent upon experience. Please apply now for more details...
