Location: West London (5 Days Site Based)
Rate: £350 - £450 per day (Outside IR35)
Contract: Until December 2027

Looking for a long-term contract where you can take ownership of the mechanical quality assurance process from installation through to final handover?
This is an opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Quality Assurance Engineer / Mechanical Construction Manager to support a major rail infrastructure programme in West London. Working within a live operational environment, you will play a key role in ensuring all mechanical and pipefitting works are fully documented, inspected, and handed over in accordance with project specifications, client standards, and regulatory requirements.
The role is heavily focused on quality assurance, inspection management, and documentation control, making it ideal for someone with a strong mechanical background who is equally comfortable working with site teams and managing detailed QA records and compliance documentation.
Where you will add value
Managing ITPs, inspection records, test packs, and mechanical QA documentation
Reviewing pipefitting and mechanical installation works against drawings, specifications, and quality requirements
Producing and maintaining handover dossiers, quality packs, and completion documentation
Coordinating inspections, witness points, and client sign-offs throughout the installation process
Recording and tracking non-conformances, corrective actions, and close-out activities
Supporting weld and pipework quality assurance activities and ensuring full traceability of documentation
Working closely with construction, commissioning, and engineering teams to ensure documentation is aligned with site progress
Supporting client audits, quality reviews, and final handover activities
To succeed in this role, you will need
Previous experience operating as a Mechanical QA Engineer, Mechanical Quality Engineer, or Mechanical Construction Manager on major infrastructure, industrial, or building services projects
Strong background in pipefitting, mechanical pipework, and associated installation activities
Extensive experience managing ITPs, test packs, inspection records, QA documentation, and handover processes
Good understanding of mechanical installation standards, testing, commissioning, and quality control procedures
