Solution Architect - Cyber Security - Financial Markets

A leading global organisation is seeking an experienced Technical Solution Engineer to join a highly skilled Cybersecurity Strategy & Governance function. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture and technical direction of large-scale cyber analytics and security engineering platforms operating at significant scale.

Working within a team of cybersecurity, data, cloud and software engineering specialists, you will be responsible for driving solution design, architecture governance, technical standards and platform evolution across a complex, enterprise environment.

The Role:

This is a hands-on architecture and solution design position where you will own end-to-end technical designs for cybersecurity-focused applications and platforms. You will work closely with engineering, platform and governance teams to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, supportable and aligned with enterprise standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Defining and maintaining architecture artefacts including HLDs, LLDs, ADRs, reference architectures and design patterns
• Delivering end-to-end solution designs from requirements through to production support
• Supporting the evolution of large-scale data and analytics platforms
• Evaluating technologies and conducting proof-of-concepts to drive standardisation and architectural consistency
• Facilitating design reviews, architecture forums and governance discussions
• Providing technical guidance throughout delivery and implementation
• Ensuring solutions meet security, operational and regulatory requirements
• Contributing hands-on where required, including technical problem solving and occasional development activities

Required Experience:

We're interested in individuals who combine strong architecture expertise with practical delivery experience.

You should have:

• Proven experience producing end-to-end solution designs
• Strong architecture documentation skills, including HLDs, LLDs and ADRs
• Experience designing, implementing and supporting enterprise-scale data platforms
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and modern technology architectures
• Experience evaluating technologies and making architectural recommendations
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• The ability to influence technical decisions across multiple teams

Desirable Experience:

Experience in any of the following would be beneficial:

• Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform
• Cybersecurity architecture and secure-by-design principles
• Identity and Access Management (IAM)
• Threat modelling and risk management
• Encryption, secrets management and key management solutions
• Secure software development life cycle practices
• Vulnerability management and supply-chain security
• Open-source data technologies
• Software engineering or coding experience

Working Arrangement:

• Hybrid working model
• Sheffield-based office attendance required two days per week
