Electrical Design Engineer

Are you an Electrical Design Engineer looking for a role where you can develop your technical skills, work on interesting machinery projects and enjoy an early finish every Friday?

Castle Employment is working with an established and growing engineering manufacturer in Bridlington to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative engineering team, working on electrical designs that directly support the manufacture, assembly and improvement of specialist machinery.

Whether you're an established Electrical Design Engineer or developing your career with a strong electrical engineering background, this business offers the opportunity to build your expertise with training and support from an experienced team.

What will you be doing?

  • Creating electrical layouts, assembly drawings, build instructions and production documentation.

  • Developing and maintaining accurate electrical design drawings, ensuring revisions and technical information are kept up to date.

  • Carrying out electrical design calculations, including cable sizing, power requirements and phase loading where required.

  • Working closely with mechanical engineers, software engineers and production teams to ensure designs are practical and suitable for manufacture.

  • Supporting design reviews, engineering changes and continuous improvement projects.

  • Ensuring electrical designs meet relevant safety, quality and compliance requirements.

  • Providing occasional technical support to production teams to help resolve electrical design-related issues.

What are we looking for?
  • A sound understanding of electrical engineering principles, gained through practical experience, an apprenticeship, education or relevant technical training.

  • The ability to produce and modify electrical drawings, schematics or wiring diagrams using CAD software.

  • An understanding of electrical components, circuits and technical documentation.

  • A methodical approach to producing accurate engineering drawings and resolving technical challenges.

  • An interest in working within a manufacturing environment where electrical designs are used to build and develop machinery.

  • The ability to work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines and production teams.

Experience within machinery manufacturing, electrical control panels, automation, power distribution or industrial equipment would be advantageous, but is not essential.

You don't need a degree, previous machine-building experience or PLC programming skills to be considered. The business is open to engineers from different industries who can demonstrate the right electrical knowledge and drawing capability.

What's in it for you?
  • Early Friday finish at 1:00pm, giving you a longer weekend.

  • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.

  • Discretionary company performance bonus.

  • Contributory pension scheme.

  • Westfield health provision for all employees.

  • Death in service benefit of eight times salary.

  • Cycle to work scheme.

  • Training and support to develop your electrical design skills.

  • Regular sporting activities and family social club events.

  • The opportunity to work within an established engineering team on varied machinery design and development projects.

This is a full-time, office-based position in Bridlington, with working hours of 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Thursday and a 1:00pm finish on Fridays. The business is open to considering flexible working requests, although regular office attendance is required.
