Position Overvie w

My client are looking for an experienced Microsoft Fabric & Azure Engineer with hands-on experience in data ingestion, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure data services. This role is focused on building and supporting data pipelines that move data from on-premise systems into Microsoft Fabric and Azure, helping to improve reporting, analytics, and overall data visibility across the business. You will be responsible for designing and maintaining data ingestion processes, supporting Lakehouse architecture, and ensuring data is secure, reliable, and available for Power BI reporting and wider business use.

Key Responsibiliti es

  • Build, maintain, and improve data ingestion pipelines using Microsoft Fabric
  • Move data from on-premise systems into Azure and Microsoft Fabric using Data Factory, Dataflows, Pipelines, and Data Gateways.
  • Support and manage Lakehouse architecture, ensuring data is stored correctly and is easy to access for reporting and analytics.
  • Work with Power BI Fabric to ensure reporting teams have reliable and well-structured data sources.
  • Manage and support Fabric workspaces, data pipelines, and data flows across the platform.
  • Configure and maintain secure connections between on-premise systems and Azure using Data Gateways, Private Endpoints, and Private DNS where required.
  • Monitor data pipelines and resolve failures, performance issues, and data quality problems.
  • Support platform performance across large environments with high volumes of users, endpoints, and reporting activity.

Skills and Experie nce

  • Strong experience working in data engineering, data platforms, or Azure-based data environments.
  • Good hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, especially Data Factory, Lakehouse, Dataflows, Pipelines, and Power BI integration.
  • Experience building data ingestion pipelines from on-premise systems into Azure environments.
  • Understanding of Lakehouse design and how data should be structured for reporting and analytics.
  • Experience with Azure services such as Azure Storage, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, and related data services.
  • Experience working with Data Gateways and hybrid data environments.
  • Good understanding of Power BI and how Fabric supports reporting and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of Private Endpoints, Private DNS, and secure network access for data platforms.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.
  • Experience using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or similar tools for support and automation.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on data engineering work and wants to play a key part in building and improving a modern Microsoft Fabric data platform.
