Job Location: Pangbourne - 5 days a week onsite

Contract Length: Until End of June 2026 (Possibility of extension)

Working Hours: 8 per day / 40 per week

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced IT Administrator to support and maintain the IT and OT systems and infrastructure at our Pangbourne site. This is a standalone role where you will be the primary point of contact for all IT and OT-related activities on-site. You will ensure the smooth operation of critical systems to Laboratory workflows and data integrity, provide technical support, and maintain compliance with organizational standards.

What you will do:

  • Manage and maintain IT and OT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and end-user devices.
  • Provide first-line and second-line support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Monitor system performance and implement proactive measures to ensure reliability and security.
  • Coordinate with remote IT and OT teams for escalations and project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies and data integrity & protection standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures.
  • Support site operations by troubleshooting and resolving technical issues promptly.

What you will have:

  • Proven experience in IT administration, preferably in environments with OT systems.
  • Strong knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, Firewall configuration, switches), Windows systems & tools, Computer Hardware, virtualization technologies & storage solutions.
  • Familiarity with industrial control systems and OT security principles (desirable).
  • Ability to work independently without on-site IT or OT colleagues.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to build trust and maintain positive relationships across teams.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Comfortable working autonomously and making decisions under minimal supervision.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure
  • Administrator, CCNA ,or similar) are advantageous.
