Senior Product Designer
A mission-driven scale-up in Edinburgh is looking for a talented Product Designer to join their hybrid team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on impactful, real-world products, with a strong focus on sustainability.
They’re building technology to support a rapidly growing, real-world operation - and you’ll be at the forefront of designing interfaces and experiences that are used daily by thousands of people. From customer-facing journeys through to complex internal systems, your work will cover it all.
This role is a little different from a typical product design position.
They’re looking for someone who can go beyond just designing in Figma - someone comfortable using AI and modern tools to prototype, test ideas, and iterate in real-time. Ideally, you’ll be someone who’s happy being hands-on, with the ability to make small improvements directly where needed, rather than always relying on engineering resource.
You’ll be the sole designer in the team, with full ownership across their product suite. You’ll lead the design process across a variety of projects - from early-stage concepts through to high-fidelity designs - working closely with engineers and founders to shape how things are built.
You’ll be joining a cross-functional team where your work will have immediate and visible impact. There’s no heavy product hierarchy here - you’ll collaborate closely with the wider team, contribute to product decisions, and have a genuine say in how things evolve over time.
What they’re hoping you’ll bring:
- A strong background in product design - ideally, experience delivering high-fidelity designs, user flows, and components for both web and mobile apps
- A deep understanding of design principles and a strong eye for clean, intuitive interfaces
- Experience working closely with engineers to bring ideas to life
- Confidence owning problems end-to-end, from initial concept through to delivery
- Experience using AI tools to support prototyping, iteration, and problem-solving
- A strong portfolio
Bonus points for:
- Experience prototyping beyond static design tools
- Experience working in a start-up or scale-up environments
- Side projects or evidence of building things independently
Their offices are based in central Edinburgh, walking distance from Waverly station, and they support hybrid working - you’ll typically be in the office around three days a week.
Salary-wise, they’re offering a range from roughly £60k to £90k, depending on experience, along with share options and a solid benefits package. More than anything, this is an opportunity to take real ownership of a product and play a key role in shaping how it evolves.
