Commercial Finance Lead

Intro

Cedar is currently partnered with a high-growth, PE-backed Consumer Technology business to secure a Commercial Finance Lead for a rapidly expanding division, based in Central London. This is a maternity cover contract running from June 2026 through to approximately August 2027, offering a salary of £.

The business continues to invest heavily into growth areas, with Grocery representing one of its fastest-growing and most commercially important divisions.

The Role

As Commercial Finance Lead, you will:

Act as the lead finance business partner to the divisional leadership team

Support trading performance, commercial decision-making and operational planning

Challenge and influence senior stakeholders, including commercial leadership

Deliver detailed modelling, forecasting and performance analysis

Work closely with large and often unstructured data sets to generate actionable commercial insight

Support pricing, trading and commercial initiatives with clear financial analysis

Drive continuous improvement across reporting, forecasting and KPI tracking

Operate in a highly hands-on environment within a fast-paced growth business

Your Profile

You will ideally have:

A formal accountancy qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)

Strong commercial finance experience within a fast-paced environment

Previous exposure to trading, performance or business partnering roles

Strong Excel and financial modelling capability

Experience working with large, complex or messy data sets

The confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders

Grocery, retail, consumer or technology sector exposure would be beneficial

Approximately 5-7 years PQE preferred

The ability to hit the ground running from day one in a highly commercial environment
